What is Chickenpox?

Chickenpox is caused due to Varicella-Zoster Virus(VZV). It is a contagious disease. In this condition itching and rash can occur. This rash first appears on the chest, face, and back and then it spreads gradually on the whole body. It can occur between 250 and 500 itchy blisters. It can be dangerous for babies, pregnant women, adults, and especially for those people who cannot have the ability to fight against it. Chickenpox is very common in the US. It usually occurs for 4 to 7 days. It is (VZV) virus that is easily spread from chickenpox patients to others people. But vaccinated people are safe from it. It spreads due to close contact with the Chickenpox patient.

What are the symptoms of Chickenpox?


Some symptoms are helpful to identify.

  • firstly appears rash on the face, chest, and back later converted into itchiness.
  • can be appeared as fluid-filled blisters that take one week to convert into scabs.
  • it is possible to feel fever, tiredness, loss of appetite, and headache just two or three days before a rash. 


What are the preventions of Chickenpox? 

There are some preventions of chickenpox that are helpful to stay safe from it.

firstly Chickenpox was vaccinated and should take two doses of it. It plays an important role against Chickenpox. This vaccination is for children and adults are commonly used. There are some preventions for other ones.

  • Should have good hygiene.
  • should wash your hand frequently.
  • if facing Chickenpox recommend staying at home until blisters have dried. Normally in children, the blisters change into crust and fall off naturally. It falls off for one to two weeks.
  • should be trimmed fingernails
  • should avoid scratching because it can be caused scars and may slow the healing process.
  • never give aspirin to children who lie under the age of 16. It can be caused serious problems like Reye's syndrome.
  • should not use anti-inflammatory painkillers.



What are the treatments for Chickenpox?


There is no particular treatment for Chickenpox, but some pharmacy treatments can prove helpful for it, Such as Paracetamol which is used for fever, and Cooling gels to decrease itching.

  • Some treatments can be done at home and they will help to prevent chickenpox and skin itching. Such as calamine lotion, and taking a cool bath with the addition of baking soda and colloidal oatmeal may be decreased itching.

  • should be vaccinated.

  • Antiviral medications licensed can be helpful for it. It can work best if it gives the patient early as possible. It nor Usually recommended being provided in the first 24 hours after the rash gets started.

  • can be used Tylenol, is used for decreasing pain and fever. It is safe for both children and pregnant women

  • Should use an excessive amount of water.
